Dublin Tourism introduces the key to the city from just €15
per day
Dublin Tourism launched the Dublin Pass on 5 May, a sightseeing ‘smart’ card, that was developed in association with the Leisure Pass Group. The pass gives visitors and Dubliners total freedom to enjoy the best Dublin has to offer. The Dublin Pass gives holders free entry to 33 top Dublin attractions as well as a host of discounts and benefits and queue jumping privileges. It not only offers great value to the visitor but also gives them more of that very valuable holiday commodity – time! The launch of the Dublin Pass follows the example of successful operations established in London, New York and York.
Frank Magee, Chief Executive of Dublin Tourism, who announced details of the Dublin Pass at a press briefing in the Dublin Tourism Centre said, “The concept behind the Dublin Pass is simple. We can now offer visitors to Dublin the very best in attractions, leisure activities, sightseeing, shopping, service and, importantly, value, all in one complete package.”
The Dublin Pass was created by Dublin Tourism in association with the Leisure Pass Group. The Leisure Pass Group, creators of the London Pass, already run successful operations in London, New York and York and have recently introduced their first product for the business travel market, the London Business Card. Angus Rankine, Founding Director of the Leisure Pass Group said, “We are very proud to be involved in the Dublin Pass project. After the success of our other city cards, I am sure that this one will be another triumph. We wish Dublin all the best and look forward to be working with Dublin Tourism on the Dublin Pass.”
Because of the smart technology used, the Dublin Pass eliminates cash transactions at attraction admission points and allows the holder to beat the queues and gain fast-track entry into the attractions. The purchase price of the pass covers entry to the participating attractions as well as special offers, added value and preferential rates at shops, theatres and restaurants. It even includes the luxury Aircoach transfers from the airport to the city.
Dublin Passes are available in a variety of durations (1 day, 2 day, 3 day and 6 day passes) and prices start at €29 for a 1 day adult pass. A six day pass costs €89, less than €15 per day. Dublin Passes are available from overseas tour operators, travel agents, retail outlets, tourist information and reservation centres, ferry ports, hotels, the Dublin Tourism Centre and via the website www.dublinpass.com. Purchasers also receive a comprehensive guidebook to compliment the pass. |
