The card also comes with a map and a leaflet which outlines the benefits and offers, and how to locate them, together with all the relevant phone numbers. In a 24-hour period, the London Business Card can assist the business traveller in the following ways. Prior to arriving into London, holders of the card will be able to book tickets for the Heathrow, Stansted and Gatwick Express trains through a dedicated website – www.londontravelpass.com. Need a meeting room? eOffice is offering preferential rates on meeting room hire. If a company signs up for a year’s membership, one month will be provided for free, allowing use of its serviced offices, meeting rooms and hot-desking. Following on from the meeting, a presentation needs to be printed and bound. You’ve got an hour to spare, and a workout sounds like a good idea. The London Business Card gives free one-day membership at LA Fitness. The gyms are located throughout London, and are renowned for their state-of-the-art facilities, many of which include a swimming pool. You’ve spent a bit too long on the running machine, and you have a pain in your chest….! Don’t worry, the London Business Card has the details for Medicentre. Specialising in medical healthcare, one of their qualified GPs will check you out at one of their centrally located walk-in centres, and can write prescriptions if needs be. You’ve been given the ‘all-clear’ and so it’s time to relax. The famous London Black Cab is no longer quite so elusive – a new service from Zingo will allow visitors to call a dedicated phone line to locate the closest available Black Cab in the vicinity. A special secret code ensures that the taxi picks up the correct person to take them to their preferred destination. Hungry? Leading restaurants Chez Gerard, Bertorelli, and Live Bait are offering a three- course menu, with a free glass of wine, inclusive of VAT, service and coffee, for just £15. For those wishing to celebrate (or just un-wind), a bottle of the house champagne can be purchased for £15, half the normal price. These restaurants have an excellent reputation for good quality food, in pleasant surroundings, and are located throughout central London. The night is yet young. London Business Card holders receive VIP entry at a preferential rate at the exclusive VIP club, Café de Paris. If you’re feeling a little fragile the following day, then take advantage of the services at London’s airport lounges at a special rate. Angus Rankine, Founding Director said: “Following on from the success of the London Pass, we saw a need in the market for something specifically created for business people visiting the city. Business travellers are often dependent on their hotel to provide services during their stay. This can sometimes be time-consuming or is subject to the concierge’s own personal preferences. We have put together the full range of top-notch services to fulfil the needs of business people visiting London, which will make their business trip not only enjoyable, but give them access to some of the capital’s best business services.” The card will be officially launched in January 2004 and has a dedicated site - www.londonbusinesscard.com. |
